These Smart Technology electric
tankless water heaters are configured for climates where incoming water
temperatures are in the 60°F to 70°F range. The ECO 16 and ECO 18 are well-suited for homes in the southern states including the lower Texas area, and Florida.
Maximum Flow Rate Desired: You should consider the maximum flow rate
you really need or use. See chart for flow rate guidelines for various
hot water applications in the home. The average shower temperatures are
between 98°F to 105°F. To determine which model you need, determine how
many hot water applications you run at the same time. Add up the flow
for them. This is your total flow rate. On the chart below, find your total flow rate, and your inlet water temperature. The model on the left column is the best model
for you.
The chart below shows flow rates for all our models based on inlet temperature with temperature control setting at 105°F.
For example, if you typically use about 3.5 gallons per minute (two showers
with water saver showerheads) at the same time, find the 3.5 GPM on the
chart or the number closest to it. If the number is highlighted in GREEN, that means it is the correct model for you. It it is highlighted in YELLOW, that means you can get by with it. If it is highlighted in RED, you should consider a model a step or two up.

size and wire gauge must meet all applicable local, state, provincial,
and national electrical codes for your area. These are only guidelines

electrical sub-panel for installation, especially when heater is not
mounted within line-of-sight of the main electrical panel. Wiring should
be sized to maintain a voltage drop of less than 3% under load.
