BOB: Parent's TV, video game timer/control for kids
BOB is a practical tool for parents to manage the amount of time your children spend watching TV, playing video games, or surfing the web!
Reduced screentime for kids means better health and grades. Now, BOB puts an end to child-parent conflicts about screentime. Parents set limits, and once the time is up, electronics shut off.
BENEFITS OF BOB:
• BOB becomes the bad guy in screentime negotiations • Children and teenagers consuming only the recommended one to two hours
of quality programming per day show improved grades and health • Safe for all electronics
HOW IT WORKS:
• Plug BOB into any electronic device with a screen • Manage time for up to six users • Once kids reach hourly, daily or weekly limits, BOB shuts off the screen
MORE INFO:
We love TV, video games, and computers - so why “limit” things that we love?
We do it because too much of a good thing is simply too much! The average
American child sits in front of a TV or computer screen 3-5 hours a
day, every day. Bring that time down to 2 hours per day, and you've
just given your son/daughter up to 1000 extra hours of childhood each
year.
One thousand more hours of being a kid! Seems like a no-brainer to us.
And what will they do with all that extra time? They will do just what
you did as a child—play hide-and-seek, ride their bikes, enjoy family
game-night, write in a journal, play sports, play Hopscotch.
Tom Gallop (Tuesday, September 2, 2008) Rating: Bob was a great investment for our family. I no longer have to hide remotes or argue over TV time. Once the time runs out, it is gone. The blocks are also a great feature. If he wants to watch TV, he trys the code. If it doesn't work, he moves on to something else. If you have trouble getting your child out the door in the morning, you can setup a block to turn the TV off at whatever time you choose.
He figured out pretty quickly that he needs to conserve his time and choose wisely. The setup was a breeze. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is starting to battle their child over the television.
